چکیده

TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) is the most widely-used protocol on Internet. It divides one large data into small sized packets, called segments. Segmentation is useful for improving network performance. It has a major problem in that its congestion control algorithm does not allow flows to obtain full available bandwidth during fast long-distance links. One of the tools for evaluating TCP performance in various network scenarios is Network Simulator-2 (NS-2). By using this tool one can simulate and evaluate the performance of different TCP algorithms. In fast network one of the factors that degrade the TCP performance is packet size. Increasing the packet size decreased the throughput of network, reason being that after crossing dedicated packet size, it will allocate double the required packet size and fill up garbage in the unallocated packet space, thus decreasing the throughput.

THE STUDY OF PACKET LOSS EFFECT ON NETWORK CONTROL SYSTEM ERROR FUNCTION MODEL

Modern control systems widely use network to decrease the implementation cost and also increase the performance. Although they have several advantages, they suffer from some limitations and deficiencies. Packet loss is one of the main limitations which affect the control system in different conditions and finally can lead to system instability. To prevent such problems it is important to model ...

The Feedback Based Mechanism for Video Streaming Over Multipath Ad Hoc Networks

Ad hoc networks are multi-hop wireless networks without a pre-installed infrastructure. Such networks are widely used in military applications and in emergency situations as they permit the establishment of a communication network at very short notice with a very low cost. Video is very sensitive for packet loss and wireless ad-hoc networks are error prone due to node mobility and weak links. H...

Measurement Study on Packet Size and Packet Rate Effects over Vehicular Ad Hoc Network Performance

A vehicular ad hoc network (VANET) is a type mobile ad hoc network which is developed to increase physical safety of vehicles’ derivers. Many parameters affect the performance of VANET. Packet size and packet rate are two important parameters that need to be considered when using VANET. Different values of these parameters provide different network performance. Using large packet size leads to ...
